The Volkswagen Tharu (途岳) is a compact crossover from SAIC-Volkswagen for the Chinese market, representing the Chinese version of the global VW Taos on the MQB A1 platform. It is aimed at urban buyers who value German build quality, a reliable turbo-four and a restrained, practical design. The versions in our stock are the 280TSI on a 1.4-liter 4-cylinder EA211 turbo engine rated at 150 hp (110 kW) and 250 Nm, paired with a 7-speed "dry" DSG dual-clutch (DQ200) and front-wheel drive; 0-100 km/h in 9.1 s, NEDC-cycle consumption about 5.9 L/100 km. Dimensions 4453 mm long, wheelbase 2680 mm, trunk 455 L (up to 1543 L with the seats folded) - a typical compact SUV of the Tiguan-minus class. Chinese specifics: the 1.4T 280TSI engine is the most common; in Russia the global equivalent was officially sold under the Taos name. All versions in our stock have 150 hp (≤160 hp), so they qualify for the reduced recycling-fee rate in Russia for private individuals importing "for personal use."
