BAIC Group's Arcfox brand has opened pre-sales for its new mid-to-large SUV Alpha T7, which will be offered in both extended-range (EREV) and pure electric (BEV) versions. The model was first shown last week at the Chengdu Auto Show and is positioned as the brand's flagship for 2026, aimed at young family buyers.
The subsidized pre-sales price starts at 137,800 yuan (about $20,320). In total, nine rear-wheel-drive variants are available, with subsidized pre-sales prices ranging up to 174,800 yuan. List prices span from 141,800 to 178,800 yuan, and each variant gets a 4,000 yuan discount during the pre-sales period. The EREV lineup includes four versions, the cheapest being the 1315 Plus, while the BEV lineup has five, with the entry-level 650 Plus priced at 140,800 yuan.
The BEV versions are built on an 800-volt platform with a standard motor output of 227 kW. The 650 Plus carries a 75.4 kWh battery and a CLTC range of 650 km, while the other BEV variants use 84.8 kWh batteries for a range of 715 km. All BEV versions charge from 30% to 80% in 15 minutes. The EREV variants pair a 1.5-liter range extender with a 200 kW motor and a 43.9 kWh battery, offering 320 km of electric-only range and a combined range of 1,315 km; they run on a 400-volt platform with the same 15-minute charging time. CATL supplies battery cells for all versions.
The SUV measures 5,020 mm in length with a 3,040 mm wheelbase and a fastback profile. Standard trunk capacity is 645 liters, expanding to 1,845 liters with the rear seats folded, plus a 200-liter frunk. The cabin has a 17.3-inch 3K center screen, with infotainment integrating ByteDance's Doubao and Alibaba's Qwen large language models, CDC continuously variable damping suspension, and a chassis tuned with input from Magna.
Higher-priced variants can be equipped with the Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 Pro driver-assistance system, which is not standard across the lineup. Four Qiankun-designated versions include the system and an in-cabin LiDAR, while some non-Qiankun variants use BAIC's Yuanjing intelligent driver-assistance system with a roof-mounted LiDAR. The entry-level 1315 Plus EREV lists no branded driver-assistance system and no LiDAR. The Alpha T7 will also support vehicle-battery separation sales, which could lower the entry barrier for buyers.
