Wuling Hongguang New Energy宏光新能源

Hongguang New Energy is a Wuling minivan sold both as a pure electric and with a range extender. It is put together by SAIC-GM-Wuling and aimed at buyers on the domestic Chinese market.

One electric motor serves the whole range: 75 kW, roughly 102 hp. It sits at the back and turns the rear wheels through a single-speed reduction gear, and no other transmission is offered. Some versions also carry a combustion engine of 1,498 cc, about 1.5 litres, certified to the China 6 standard.

What really separates the versions is the traction battery, quoted between 8.5 and 32.6 kWh, together with claimed range of 50 to 300 km. The body is shared throughout — 4,515 mm long, 1,725 mm wide, on a 2,850 mm wheelbase, with height given as either 1,785 or 1,790 mm. Cabins come with 5 or with 7 seats.

Factory prices run from 68,800 to 79,800 yuan, a fairly tight band for 9 versions. The series has been built since 2024, and Chinese sales over 12 months came to 36,892 cars. For electrically driven cars the power mark sits at 58.84 kW, and all 9 versions stand above it.
