Wuling Starlight星光

Starlight is a mid-size sedan that SAIC-GM-Wuling makes for the Chinese domestic market. Every version in the range plugs in: some run on battery alone, the rest are plug-in hybrids with a combustion engine on board.

One body serves the whole series: 4,835 mm long, 1,860 mm wide and 1,515 mm tall, on a 2,800 mm wheelbase. The cabin seats 5, and nothing changes on the outside from one version to the next.

Output spans 78 to 150 kW, or 106 to 204 hp. Hybrid versions pair the electric side with a 1,498 cc engine and a CVT, while the battery versions use a single-speed reduction gear. The choice inside the range therefore comes down first of all to whether an engine is wanted on board.

Battery capacity varies more than anything else here, from 9.5 to 69.2 kWh, and quoted driving range is listed separately, from 70 to 610 km. The emissions certificate is China 6.

The price list holds 14 versions, from 79,800 to 125,800 yuan — a wide ladder for a single series, and one that covers cars with very different powertrains. The series has been built since 2023, and 10,630 cars were sold in China over the past 12 months.
