Volkswagen Tayron · First generation of the Chinese 探岳 (FAW-Volkswagen), 2018–2024, facelift 2021/2022; MQB A2 platform (related to the 2nd-generation Tiguan, internal code AD1).

The Volkswagen Tayron (探岳) is a mid-size crossover produced only for the Chinese market by the FAW-Volkswagen joint venture on the MQB A2 platform (technically close to the second-generation Tiguan). In dimensions (length 4589 mm, wheelbase 2731 mm) it is larger than the Tiguan L and effectively approaches the global Tiguan Allspace, while having its own design for China. The version in our stock is the 280TSI: a gasoline 1.4 TSI (EA211) rated at 150 hp and 250 Nm, a 7-speed "wet" DSG dual-clutch (DQ381) and front-wheel drive; the generation lineup also included the 330TSI (2.0T, 186 hp) and the all-wheel-drive 380TSI (2.0T, 220 hp), but we do not have them in stock. The car is aimed at the family buyer who values a spacious cabin, a reliable German platform and rich equipment (full LED lighting, adaptive cruise, autonomous braking, panoramic roof, CarPlay/CarLife). For the Russian recycling-fee relief it is important: all 280TSI units in our stock have 150 hp (≤160 hp) and pass the reduced recycling-rate threshold for a private individual importing "for personal use," whereas the 2.0T versions (186 and 220 hp) would not qualify. This is not the new global Tayron 2024 (which is larger, seven-seat, on a different platform) nor the coupe version 探岳X.
