Voyah FREE

FREE is a large crossover from Voyah, aimed at the Chinese domestic market. The series mixes fully electric versions with series hybrids, in which the combustion engine works as a generator.

Output starts at 200 kW and reaches 510 kW, roughly 272 to 693 hp. Hybrid versions add a combustion engine of 1,476 to 1,499 cc, about 1.5 litres, certified to the China 6 standard. No stepped gearbox is used: drive goes through a single-speed reducer, either to the rear wheels, including a layout with the motor at the rear, or to all four through two electric motors.

Battery capacity ranges widely, from 33 to 106 kWh, and quoted range is given as 140 to 631 km. Body dimensions shift only slightly: length 4,905 to 4,915 mm, width 1,950 to 1,960 mm, height 1,645 to 1,660 mm, with a single wheelbase of 2,960 mm for the whole series and seating for 5.

The price list holds 31 versions, from 219,900 to 419,900 yuan, and the series has been built since 2021. Against the 58.84 kW threshold every one of the 31 versions sits above, with none below. Chinese sales over 12 months amounted to 33,054 cars.
