The ID.4 X is a compact crossover assembled by SAIC-VW for the Chinese domestic market. The series is electric throughout, with no combustion engine in any version, so the choice within it comes down to battery, drive layout and output.
Output almost doubles across the range, from 125 to 230 kW, or roughly 170 to 313 hp. There is no stepped gearbox: drive passes through a single-speed reducer. Two layouts are offered, rear-wheel drive with the motor at the rear, and all-wheel drive using two electric motors.
Battery capacity runs from 52.8 to 83.4 kWh, and quoted range is given as 402 to 607 km. The body is common to the entire series at 4,612 mm long, 1,852 mm wide and 1,640 mm tall, on a 2,765 mm wheelbase, with seating for 5.
The factory price list holds 60 versions spanning 159,888 to 292,900 yuan, and the series has been built since 2021. Measured against the 58.84 kW threshold, all 60 versions sit above it and none below. Local sales over 12 months came to 4,242 cars.
