Volkswagen Tayron X探岳X

Tayron X is a mid-size crossover from Volkswagen, built by FAW-VW and aimed at the Chinese domestic market. Sales of the series in China over the past 12 months came to 3,596 cars.

A single engine displacement covers the range, 1,984 cc or 2.0 litres, with output moving from 137 to 162 kW, or 186 to 220 hp, depending on the version. One transmission is used throughout: a wet dual-clutch unit with 7 ratios. Drive is front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, and both layouts are offered inside the same series. The emission standard is China 6.

The body barely changes across the price list: 4,622 or 4,626 mm long, 1,860 mm wide, 1,661 or 1,662 mm tall, on a wheelbase of 2,730 or 2,731 mm. The differences amount to a few millimetres, so in practice it is one body for every version. Seating is for 5.

Factory prices for the 10 versions run from 232,900 to 295,800 yuan. The series has been built since 2020 and is still in production.

Against the 117.68 kW line, that is 160 hp, the whole range sits above it: 10 versions out of 10.
