Tank 400

The Tank 400 is a large SUV built by Great Wall since 2025 and sold on the Chinese market. The range mixes versions with a plain combustion engine and hybrids that never need plugging in.

Two engines appear on the price list, and they differ noticeably: 1,998 cc, or 2.0 litres, and 2,370 cc, about 2.4 litres. Output spans 137 to 185 kW, roughly 186 to 252 hp. Every version drives all four wheels through an automatic gearbox, offered with 9 speeds on part of the range. Emissions are certified to the China 6 standard.

The body barely changes from one version to the next: the wheelbase is 2,850 mm throughout and height is 1,905 mm, while length varies only between 4,964 and 4,985 mm and width between 1,960 and 1,970 mm. Seating is for five in every version.

The price list runs to 7 versions, from 249,800 to 279,800 yuan at factory prices. The corridor between the cheapest and the dearest step is narrow, so the choice comes down to engine and equipment rather than to fundamentally different vehicles. All of them are rated above the 117.68 kW mark, none below. Chinese sales over the past 12 months came to 5,095 cars.
