The smart #1 is a compact battery-electric crossover from a European marque, sold in China with five seats. Domestic sales over 12 months came to 14,792 units.
Output covers a wide band, from 175 to 365 kW, roughly 238 to 496 hp. No version has a conventional gearbox: drive goes through a single-speed reduction gear. Two layouts are offered, rear-wheel drive with the motor at the back and all-wheel drive with two electric motors.
Battery capacity runs from 49 to 66 kWh and the quoted range from 400 to 570 km. The body hardly changes across the family: length 4,270 to 4,300 mm, width 1,822 mm, height 1,636 mm, wheelbase 2,750 mm. Those numbers put the car at the compact end of the crossover field rather than the mid-size one.
The price list holds 22 entries running from 152,900 to 284,900 yuan, and the car has been built since 2022. The 58.84 kW threshold, about 80 hp, does not split this family: all 22 versions stay above it, the entry car included. What separates them is battery size, quoted range, layout and price.
