The Skoda Octavia Pro (明锐Pro) is a compact 5-door golf-class liftback, a China-market-exclusive version of the 4th-generation Octavia on the VW MQB platform. Compared with the European model it differs in an extended wheelbase (2730 mm, +44 mm) and overall length of 4753 mm (+64 mm), which gives noticeably more second-row room and a large liftback-format trunk - 528 L, up to 1482 L with the seats folded. All 280TSI versions are equipped with a single 1.4 TSI (EA211) engine at 150 hp / 110 kW and 250 Nm paired with a 7-speed "dry" DSG dual-clutch (DQ200) and front-wheel drive; 0-100 km/h in about 8.5 s, WLTC-cycle consumption around 5.9 L/100 km. The car is addressed to the buyer who needs a practical, economical and spacious family car with European handling and equipment that is rich by Chinese standards (digital instrument cluster, large multimedia screen, signature Simply Clever solutions). For the Russian buyer the key plus is that the 150 hp power fits within the ≤160 hp threshold, so when imported by a private individual "for personal use" the car passes the reduced recycling-fee rate.
