NIO ES8

The NIO ES8 is a large electric SUV built for the Chinese domestic market. Cabins come in three layouts, from five seats to seven, and that choice is arguably the main one a buyer makes within the series.

Versions differ noticeably in size as well: length from 5,022 to 5,280 mm, wheelbase from 3,010 to 3,130 mm, width from 1,962 to 2,010 mm and height from 1,750 to 1,800 mm. The factory price list holds 44 versions, a rare length for a single series.

Output runs between 400 kW, about 544 hp, and 520 kW, roughly 707 hp, so all 44 versions end up above the 58.84 kW threshold. Drive is to all four wheels through two motors in every case, and a single-speed reducer stands in for a multi-speed gearbox.

Batteries hold from 70 to 102 kWh, with quoted range from 415 to 655 km. Prices in the factory list run between 382,800 and 656,000 yuan. Battery, output and body size all move within the series, while the drive layout stays the same throughout. The ES8 has been in production since 2018, and Chinese sales over 12 months reached 131,432 cars.
