Mercedes-Benz SL-ClassSL级

The SL-Class is a Mercedes-Benz coupe filed under the sports-car class. It left the Chinese market long ago, and no newer versions have carried the name since.

The series was built from 2004 to 2018 and kept the same name across that whole stretch.

The body is a coupe: two doors, a fixed roof and a cabin cut shorter behind the front seats than a saloon of the same length. Cars built this way are not bought for space — the rear bench is tight and the boot opening is usually smaller than on a saloon.

The sports-car class is a separate shelf in the Chinese classification, kept for cars built around the way they drive rather than around daily errands. The seating position is low, and practicality gives way to behaviour on the road.

With production over in 2018, cars from this series turn up only on the used market.
