M-Hero M817

The M817 is a large off-roader from M-Hero, built for the Chinese domestic market. It is a plug-in hybrid: electric drive is backed by a combustion engine, and both axles are driven. Sales over the past 12 months came to 14,240 cars.

Output across the price list runs from 145 to 165 kW, or roughly 197 to 224 hp. Two combustion engines serve the range: 1,497 cc, about 1.5 litres, and 1,997 cc, about 2.0 litres. The emission standard is China 6.

The battery separates one version from another more sharply than the hardware does. Capacity runs from 31.7 to 62.5 kWh, and the claimed electric range from 140 to 301 km, both figures belonging to the outer entries of the list.

One body serves the whole series: 5,100 mm long, 1,998 mm wide, on a wheelbase of 3,005 mm. Height is the only dimension that moves, between 1,899 and 1,919 mm, and every version seats 5.
