Li Auto L9

The L9 is a large SUV that Li Auto has been building for the Chinese domestic market since 2022. Every version seats six, drive is electric, and an onboard combustion engine serves as a range extender.

This is a big car, and its dimensions drift slightly between versions: length from 5,218 to 5,255 mm, width from 1,998 to 2,000 mm, height from 1,800 to 1,810 mm. The wheelbase lies between 3,105 and 3,125 mm.

Output varies widely inside the range, from 330 to 420 kW, or 449 to 571 hp. All versions drive both axles through two electric motors, with a single-speed reduction gear in place of a gearbox. The combustion engine measures 1,496 or 1,498 cc, about 1.5 litres, and the emission standard is China 6.

Battery capacity runs from 42.6 to 72.7 kWh and the claimed electric range from 215 to 420 km. Together with output, this is what tells the versions apart: their bodies are nearly identical, their hardware is not.

The price list opens at 409,800 yuan and reaches 509,800, with 8 entries in between. Sales in China over the past 12 months came to 31,781 cars.
