The C16 is a large crossover that Leapmotor has been building since 2024, offered on the Chinese market as a battery-electric car and as a series hybrid.
Output runs from 170 to 230 kW, roughly 231 to 313 hp. Series-hybrid versions add a 1,499 cc combustion engine rated to the China 6 emission standard. Every car in the family drives its rear wheels through a motor at the back, with a single-speed reduction gear in place of a conventional transmission.
Batteries are what separate the versions most, from 28.4 to 81.9 kWh, with a quoted range of 200 to 630 km. Body dimensions barely move: length 4,915 to 4,925 mm, width 1,905 mm, height 1,770 mm and a wheelbase of 2,825 mm, with a choice of five or six seats. Factory prices run from 145,800 to 189,800 yuan, and 69,282 cars were sold in China over 12 months.
In output terms the family is uniform: all 26 versions sit above the 58.84 kW threshold. In practice the versions differ in battery capacity, quoted range and seating layout.
