JMEV Yi羿

The Yi is a compact-class sedan from JMEV, battery-electric throughout and aimed at the domestic Chinese market. The series has been in production since 2021 and is still being built.

Versions differ widely in output, from 60 to 170 kW, roughly 82 to 231 hp. Front-wheel drive is one layout, while part of the range adds a second electric motor and all-wheel drive. None of the cars has a conventional gearbox: drive goes through a single-speed reduction gear.

Battery capacity runs from 43.9 to 63 kWh and the quoted range from 400 to 550 km. There is a single body: length 4,675 mm, width 1,835 mm, height 1,480 mm, a wheelbase of 2,750 mm and five seats. Factory prices stretch from 118,800 to 218,800 yuan, and 3,281 cars were sold over 12 months.

The family runs to 51 versions and every one of them sits above the 58.84 kW threshold, the entry car at 60 kW included. Battery capacity, drive layout and price are what to compare, since those three are where the cars of this series actually part company.
