The Jetta VS7 (捷达VS7) is a mid-size crossover from Volkswagen's budget Jetta sub-brand, built by the FAW-VW joint venture exclusively for the Chinese market. The car is built on the German VW MQB platform (a platform relative of the Skoda Kodiaq / SEAT Tarraco and VW Tayron/探岳), but it is a standalone, cost-reduced model, not the global VW Jetta sedan. The entire range uses a single engine — the 1.4 TSI of the EA211 series (280TSI) with 150 hp (110 kW) and 250 Nm, paired with the reliable 6-speed Aisin AQ250 automatic (a conventional torque converter, not a DSG dual-clutch; the base version has a 5-speed manual), with front-wheel drive only. The body is spacious for its class: 4624 mm long, a 2730 mm wheelbase, a 548 L trunk, 5 seats (no third row). It is a 'budget Tiguan/Kodiaq' for a buyer who wants a proven German platform for minimal money.
