IM Motors LS8

The LS8 is a large crossover that IM Motors has been building since 2026 for the Chinese market, sold both as a battery-electric car and as a series hybrid.

Power ranges from 230 to 390 kW, about 313 to 530 hp, and all-wheel drive with two electric motors is the only layout on offer. Series-hybrid versions add a 1,496 cc combustion engine rated to the China 6 emission standard, while drive in every case goes through a single-speed reduction gear rather than a conventional transmission.

Battery capacity is 52 to 66 kWh and the quoted range 355 to 430 km. One body serves the whole family: length 5,085 mm, width 2,000 mm, height 1,807 mm and a wheelbase of 3,060 mm, with a choice of five or six seats. Factory prices run from 261,800 to 311,800 yuan, and 7,649 cars were sold in China over 12 months.

In output terms the family is uniform: all 6 versions sit above the 58.84 kW threshold, the entry car included. What separates them is battery size, quoted range and the seating layout.
