Hongqi HS5

The Hongqi HS5 is a mid-size crossover produced for the Chinese market. Sales in China over the past 12 months amounted to 60,792 cars from this series alone.

The series uses one displacement, 2.0 litres, and the versions differ in tune: output runs from 165 kW (224 hp) to 185 kW (251 hp). Transmissions are automatic only, with 6 and 8 speeds, and both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive are available.

Dimensions drift slightly from version to version: length between 4,760 and 4,785 mm, width between 1,905 and 1,907 mm, height a constant 1,700 mm. The wheelbase does not change at 2,870 mm, and every version seats 5.

Factory prices run from 183,800 to 249,800 yuan, and 41 separate versions fit inside that corridor, so the catalogue is a long list rather than a choice of two or three cars. The emission rating is China 6.

The series has been built since 2019 and is still in production. On output it lies entirely above the 117.68 kW (160 hp) mark, with no version below the line.
