Hongqi HS3 PHEV

The Hongqi HS3 PHEV is a compact crossover with a plug-in hybrid drivetrain, sold on the Chinese market. Over the past 12 months 27,648 cars were sold in China.

The combustion engine measures 1.5 litres and output stays within a narrow band, from 110 kW (149 hp) to 124 kW (168 hp). That narrow band is exactly what splits the range around the 117.68 kW (160 hp) mark: 6 of the 7 catalogue versions stay below it and only one clears it.

The traction battery is the same throughout at 18.4 kWh, while the claimed electric-only range differs by version, from 115 to 125 km.

One body serves the whole range: 4,655 mm long, 1,900 mm wide and 1,668 mm tall, with a 2,770 mm wheelbase. The cabin seats 5, and no other cabin layout is listed in the catalogue.

Factory prices sit in a tight corridor, from 159,800 to 161,800 yuan, which leaves output and range as the real points of choice inside the series. The emission rating is China 6, and production has been running since 2024.
