Dongfeng Forthing Xinghai S7星海S7

The Xinghai S7 is a Dongfeng Forthing executive sedan sold in China both as a battery-electric car and as a series hybrid. Sales on the home market over 12 months reached 12,849 units.

There is no weak version here: output starts at 160 kW and reaches 230 kW, or 217 to 313 hp. The hybrid versions carry a 1,497 cc combustion engine rated to the China 6 emission standard. One transmission serves the whole family, a single-speed reduction gear, and drive is rear only, with the motor at the back.

Battery capacity depends on the version and runs from 28.4 to 70.3 kWh, while the quoted range spans 235 to 650 km. The body is shared: 4,935 mm long, 1,915 mm wide, on a 2,915 mm wheelbase, with height varying only between 1,495 and 1,510 mm. Every car seats five. Factory prices sit between 109,900 and 219,900 yuan, and the series has been built since 2024.

For electric cars and series hybrids the threshold falls at 58.84 kW, about 80 hp, and all 27 versions stay above it, the cheapest one included.
