Dongfeng Aeolus L8

The Aeolus L8 is a compact crossover from Dongfeng, made for the Chinese domestic market since 2025. The whole range is plug-in hybrid: not a single version in the price list does without an electric part.

One output figure covers the entire line-up, 113 kW or 154 hp, which places the series wholly on one side of the 117.68 kW mark: all 8 versions sit below it. The combustion engine displaces 1497 cc and meets the China 6 emission standard.

What separates the versions is the electric half of the car rather than the engine. Batteries differ noticeably, from 18.1 to 30.3 kWh, and quoted range runs from 112 to 185 km.

The body is common to the range and does not vary: 4,762 mm long, 1,910 mm wide, 1,677 mm tall, on a 2,825 mm wheelbase, with seating for 5.

Factory prices for those 8 versions are spread wide, from 129,900 to 259,900 yuan, which is the largest gap anywhere inside the series given the shared engine and the single body. Sales in China over the past 12 months came to 23,434 cars.
