Deepal S05

The Deepal S05 is a compact crossover offered in China with two kinds of powertrain: fully electric, and a range-extender layout in which the combustion engine only feeds a generator while an electric motor provides traction.

The crossover has been on sale since 2024 and the line-up counts 22 versions. Sales over the past 12 months reached 118,705 units.

One body serves the whole series: 4620 mm long, 1900 mm wide, 1600 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2880 mm and seating for 5.

Powertrain output ranges from 160 to 200 kW, or 217 to 271 hp. Every version is rear-wheel drive with the motor at the rear, and a single-speed reduction gear takes the place of a conventional transmission, so there are no stepped gears at all. The combustion engine displaces 1497 cc, about 1.5 litres.

Battery capacity varies from 27.3 to 68.8 kWh, and the claimed range from 200 to 620 km. Factory prices fall between 116,900 and 151,900 yuan. The emission rating is China 6. All 22 versions sit above the 58.84 kW power threshold that applies to electric and range-extender cars.
