Deepal G318

The G318 is a large Deepal crossover with a series-hybrid drivetrain: electric motors turn the wheels while the combustion engine works as a generator. The car is made for the domestic Chinese market.

Output across the range goes from 185 to 331 kW, or 251 to 450 hp. Some trims drive the rear wheels only, others add a second electric motor and all-wheel drive; there is no gearbox, only a single-speed reduction gear. The generator is a 1,497 cc engine, about 1.5 litres, certified to the China 6 emission standard. Batteries hold from 19 to 35.1 kWh, and the quoted electric range runs from 100 to 200 km.

The five-seat body changes noticeably from version to version: length from 5,010 to 5,125 mm, width from 1,985 to 2,025 mm and height from 1,895 to 1,960 mm, while the wheelbase stays at 2,880 mm throughout. That is an unusual amount of variation in height and width for cars sharing one name.

Twelve trims fall between 175,900 and 229,900 yuan at list price. The series has been built since 2024, and 6,020 cars were sold in China over the past 12 months. The 58.84 kW mark that Russia applies to series-hybrid cars sits below the whole range: all twelve versions are more powerful.
