Changan Qiyuan A07

The A07 is a full-size sedan assembled by Changan Nevo for buyers in China. It comes both as a battery-electric car and as a series hybrid, which puts machines of very different mechanical make-up under a single body.

Hybrid versions use combustion engines of 1,480 to 1,497 cc, about 1.5 litres, certified to the China 6 standard. There is no multi-speed gearbox: drive goes to the rear wheels through a single-speed reducer. Output stays within a narrow band, 160 to 200 kW, or roughly 218 to 272 hp.

The real divide inside the series is not the motor but the battery, which ranges from 18.4 to 80 kWh, with quoted range running from 140 to 730 km. The body is the same throughout: 4,905 mm long, 1,910 mm wide, 1,480 mm tall, on a 2,900 mm wheelbase, seating 5.

The price list is a long one, 43 versions from 119,900 to 179,900 yuan. Production has run since 2023. By power not a single version drops below the 58.84 kW threshold. With a list that long, the choice within the series comes down to how much energy a buyer wants to carry, since body, driven axle and transmission are the same everywhere. Chinese sales over 12 months reached 31,591 cars.
