Changan Kaicene Chana Star长安之星

The Chana Star is a minivan from Changan Kaicene, sold on the Chinese domestic market. The series is closed: it was built from 2009 to 2013, and no later cars carried the name.

Cars of this type are simply arranged: there is barely a separate engine bay as a volume of its own, the front seats sit well forward, and almost the whole length of the car works for the cabin. That brings an upright seating position and a lot of interior height inside modest outer dimensions.

On the Chinese domestic market such vehicles fill the cheap all-purpose slot: the same car carries people and small loads, and costs less to keep than a full-size van.

Sales in China over the past 12 months came to 6,497 cars. New examples of the series have not been built for a long time, yet the name is still visible in market figures.
