Changan Kaicene Honor S欧诺S

The Honor S is a minivan from Changan Kaicene, built for the Chinese domestic market: a tall one-box body, drive to the rear wheels and a combustion engine.

The series dates from 2012 and has stayed in production ever since.

It is a short car — 4450 mm long, 1685 mm wide, on a 2750 mm wheelbase. Those three figures are the same on every version; only height moves, from 1810 to 1835 mm. The body stands far taller than a passenger car, and so does the seating position. The cabin comes in three layouts, seating 2, 5 or 7.

One engine covers the whole range: 1480 cc, 79 kW (107 hp), and the emission standard is China 6. Of the 15 versions on the price list, 11 sit below the 117.68 kW mark, with none above it.

Factory prices stay within a narrow band, from 42,900 to 54,400 yuan, and what separates one version from another is clearly not the engine, which is shared across the series, nor the length and width of the body. Inside the range the choice comes down to how many seats are fitted.

Sales in China over the past 12 months came to 7,780 cars.
