The BYD Yuan UP is a compact crossover sold only as a battery-electric car; no combustion version exists in the series at all. It is offered on the Chinese domestic market, where any description of the car begins with its electric side.
There is no multi-speed gearbox: drive passes through a single-speed reducer. Motor output depends on the version and runs from 70 to 130 kW, which is about 95 to 177 hp.
Batteries are offered from 32 to 45.1 kWh, and quoted range lies between 301 and 401 km. The body is identical everywhere and does not change in any dimension: 4,310 mm long, 1,830 mm wide, 1,675 mm tall, on a 2,620 mm wheelbase. Cabin space is therefore the same in the cheapest and the dearest car, and the choice comes down to the drivetrain; seating is for 5 throughout.
The series comprises 8 versions priced from 74,800 to 119,800 yuan, and it has been in production since 2024. All 8 versions stand above the 58.84 kW threshold, that is above 80 hp, and none of them falls below. Chinese sales over 12 months reached 207,718 cars.
