The BYD Qin Plus is a compact sedan built for the Chinese domestic market. The same name covers two rather different cars, a battery-electric one and a plug-in hybrid, so the first choice a buyer faces concerns the powertrain rather than the equipment level.
Hybrid versions carry a 1,498 cc combustion engine, roughly 1.5 litres, certified to the China 6 standard. Two transmission solutions appear across the range, a CVT and a single-speed reducer, and drive always goes to the front wheels. Output is spread wide, from 74 to 150 kW, or about 100 to 204 hp.
Battery capacity varies enormously, from 7.7 to 72 kWh, while quoted range is listed between 55 and 610 km. Body dimensions are not uniform either: length runs from 4,765 to 4,840 mm, width from 1,837 to 1,900 mm, height from 1,495 to 1,515 mm and the wheelbase from 2,718 to 2,800 mm. Every car seats 5.
The factory price list holds 58 versions and stretches from 79,800 to 209,900 yuan, a span that puts cheap cars and far dearer ones under one badge. The series has been in production since 2021. By power the line-up divides almost evenly: 25 versions stay below the threshold and 33 sit above it. Chinese sales over 12 months came to 271,878 cars.
