BYD Song L EV宋L EV

The Song L EV is a mid-size electric crossover from BYD, sold on the Chinese market. No version of the series carries a combustion engine, and drive is either rear-wheel or all-wheel with two electric motors.

Motor output covers a wide band, from 150 to 390 kW, or about 204 to 530 hp, and a single-speed reduction gear is the only transmission listed. For electric cars the power threshold falls at 58.84 kW, roughly 80 hp, and all 14 versions of the series stay above it, the entry car by a wide margin.

Batteries are quoted at 71.8 to 87 kWh and range at 550 to 662 km, so on those two counts the versions differ far less from each other than they do on power. The body is identical throughout: 4,840 mm long, 1,950 mm wide, 1,560 mm tall, on a 2,930 mm wheelbase, with 5 seats.

Factory prices run from 189,800 to 249,800 yuan. The car has been built since 2024, and sales over 12 months came to 4,131 units. With 14 versions on offer, what separates them is output and battery size rather than anything about the body or the seating.
