BYD e2

The e2 is a compact BYD passenger car offered on the Chinese market. The whole family is electric, with no combustion-engine version anywhere in the range, so what separates one trim from another sits entirely on the electric side.

The body belongs to the compact class and hardly changes through the series: length from 4,240 to 4,260 mm, width 1,760 mm, height 1,530 mm, wheelbase 2,610 mm, with 5 seats. Length is the only dimension that moves from one version to the next; the rest stays put.

Motor output moves between 70 and 100 kW, or roughly 95 to 136 hp, and a single-speed reduction gear is the only transmission in the range. Batteries are quoted at 33.2 to 47.3 kWh and range at 301 to 405 km; those two figures are what really separates one version from the next, while dimensions and seat count are shared.

Factory prices run from 89,800 to 147,800 yuan. The car has been built since 2019, and sales over 12 months came to 4,193 units. For electric cars the power threshold falls at 58.84 kW, about 80 hp, and all 15 versions of the series stay above it — the entry car with its 70 kW motor included.
