BYD Tang大唐

The Tang is a large BYD SUV, in production since 2026 and offered on the Chinese market both as a battery-electric car and as a plug-in hybrid. The cabin is laid out for 7 people.

Quoted output covers a band from 115 to 585 kW, or about 156 to 795 hp. Hybrid versions carry a 1,498 cc combustion engine, roughly 1.5 litres, rated to the China 6 emission standard. Two transmissions appear in the range, a CVT and a single-speed reduction gear, and drive is rear-wheel, all-wheel, or all-wheel with two electric motors.

Batteries are large by any measure, from 66.5 to 130.2 kWh, and quoted range is correspondingly long, between 800 and 950 km. Body dimensions barely move from version to version: 5,263 mm long, 1,999 mm wide, on a 3,130 mm wheelbase, with height between 1,790 and 1,810 mm.

Factory prices sit between 239,900 and 309,900 yuan, and sales over 12 months came to 7,112 cars. The versions are far apart on power: 2 of the 6 stay below the threshold while 4 go above it, and the step from the bottom of the range to the top is measured in hundreds of kilowatts.
