BYD Xia夏

The Xia is a large 7-seat BYD minivan with a plug-in hybrid drivetrain, sold in China. It entered production in 2025 and sits at the upper end of the brand price range.

The mechanical package is shared by the whole line: a 1,498 cc combustion engine rated at 115 kW, or 156 hp, driving through a CVT. The emission standard is China-6. All 9 versions stay below the 117.68 kW threshold, equal to 160 hp, though not by a wide margin.

What separates the versions is the battery, quoted from 20.4 to 36.6 kWh, with electric range given between 100 and 218 km.

The body does not change across the range: 5,145 mm long, 1,970 mm wide and 1,805 mm tall, on a 3,045 mm wheelbase, which is longer than that of any passenger car the brand builds.

Factory prices are stretched unusually far for a single engine, from 206,800 to 309,800 yuan; with the mechanical side fixed, what a buyer pays for across the 9 versions is battery capacity and equipment. Chinese sales over the past 12 months amounted to 12,668 cars.
