The Qin L is a mid-size BYD sedan built for the Chinese market. The same badge covers both battery-electric versions and plug-in hybrids, so two cars from this family can be very different machines underneath.
Output across the family runs from 74 to 160 kW, roughly 100 to 218 hp. Versions with a combustion engine all use the same 1,498 cc unit, about 1.5 litres, rated to the China 6 emission standard. Two kinds of transmission are listed, a CVT and a single-speed reduction gear, and drive goes to the rear wheels.
Battery capacity differs widely, from 10.1 to 56.6 kWh, with quoted range between 80 and 545 km. The body is not identical across the range either: length from 4,720 to 4,830 mm, width from 1,880 to 1,900 mm, a constant height of 1,495 mm and a wheelbase of 2,790 to 2,820 mm. Every version seats 5.
Factory prices run from 96,800 to 153,800 yuan. The series has been in production since 2024, and sales over 12 months came to 166,667 cars. On power the line-up leans low: 16 of the 20 versions stay below the threshold and only 4 go above it, which makes the kilowatt figure of the individual version far more telling than the model name.
