BYD Dolphin海豚

The Dolphin is a BYD small-class electric car aimed at the Chinese domestic market; no version in the range carries a combustion engine. It has been built since 2021 and remains in production.
Output is spread widely across the line, from 70 kW (95 hp) to 150 kW (204 hp), while the transmission is the same everywhere: a single-speed reduction gear. Batteries vary just as much, from 30.7 to 60.5 kWh, and the quoted range runs from 301 to 520 km.
The body is not identical throughout. Length moves between 4,070 and 4,280 mm, whereas the 1,770 mm width, the 1,570 mm height and the 2,700 mm wheelbase are shared by every version, so from the outside it is length that sets them apart. All of them seat 5.
The price list has grown to 21 versions, from 99,800 to 139,800 yuan. Cars of quite different specification sit under a single name, and the buyer chooses along three axes at once: motor output, battery size and body length. Chinese sales over the past 12 months reached 167,781 cars.
