Song Plus New Energy is a compact BYD crossover for the Chinese market, built from 2021 to 2025 as both a plug-in hybrid and a battery-electric car. Sales in China over 12 months came to 46,599 vehicles.

Output covers 74 to 160 kW, or 100 to 217 hp. Every version with a combustion engine uses the same 1,498 cc displacement and is rated to the China 6 emission standard. Two transmissions are used, a CVT and a single-speed reduction gear, and drive is either front-wheel or all-wheel.

Battery capacity varies enormously, from 8.3 to 87 kWh, and the quoted range from 51 to 605 km. The body hardly moves by comparison: length from 4,705 to 4,785 mm, width of 1,890 mm, height from 1,660 to 1,680 mm, a wheelbase of 2,765 mm on every version and seating for 5.

Factory prices in China ran from 129,800 to 219,900 yuan. Of the 47 versions in the family, 26 stay below the power threshold and 21 sit above it, so the dividing line falls inside the range and the kilowatt rating of the individual version, not the name, is what settles it.
