The Seal 06 is a mid-size BYD sedan sold in China, offered both as a battery-electric car and as a plug-in hybrid. Sales on the Chinese market over 12 months reached 167,218 units.
Output across the family covers a very wide band, from 74 to 310 kW, or roughly 100 to 421 hp. Versions with a combustion engine use a 1,498 cc unit and are rated to the China 6 emission standard. Two kinds of transmission appear in the range, a CVT and a single-speed reduction gear, and drive is either rear, with a rear-mounted motor, or all-wheel drive with two electric motors.
Battery capacity runs from 10.1 to 73 kWh and the quoted range from 80 to 630 km. Body dimensions differ from version to version: length from 4,630 to 4,870 mm, width from 1,875 to 1,890 mm, height from 1,490 to 1,495 mm, and a wheelbase between 2,790 and 2,820 mm. Every car seats 5. Factory prices in China run from 96,800 to 186,800 yuan, and the series has been built since 2024.
In power terms the range splits almost in half: 20 versions out of 41 stay below the threshold and the other 21 sit above it. The badge alone therefore tells a buyer little, and the kilowatt rating and battery size of the exact version are what to look at.
