The BYD Sealion 05 EV is a compact-class crossover for the Chinese domestic market, fully electric. It seats 5 and drives the rear axle from a rear-mounted motor.

The series has been in production since 2025, and 80,034 cars were sold in China over the past 12 months.

Output runs from 140 to 240 kW, roughly 190 to 326 hp, delivered through a single-speed reduction gear; there is no multi-speed gearbox. All 6 versions sit above the 58.84 kW mark, and rear-wheel drive is common to the whole line.

The body is not one size: length varies from 4,520 to 4,620 mm and the wheelbase from 2,720 to 2,770 mm, while width stays at 1,860 mm and height at 1,630 mm. Inside this line, in other words, it is not only the hardware that differs but the footprint of the car itself.

Batteries are quoted from 50.1 to 68.5 kWh and the claimed driving range from 430 to 630 km. Factory prices start at 117,800 yuan and reach 145,900 yuan, with all 6 versions falling inside that band.
