The BMW X1 sDrive20Li is a compact premium crossover from the German brand, built locally by the BMW Brilliance joint venture (华晨宝马) exclusively for the Chinese market in the long-wheelbase (Li) version with more second-row space. Two different generations coexist in our stock under similar names: the 'Premium' trim is the 2022款 (F49 generation, 2780 mm wheelbase, 4565 mm length, 140 hp), discontinued in March 2023, while 'X Design' is the new 2023款 X设计套装 (U12 generation on the FAAR platform, 2802 mm wheelbase, 4616×1845×1641 mm body, 156 hp), built in Shenyang from 2023 and noticeably more modern in infotainment (a curved iDrive 8 display). Both variants use a three-cylinder 1.5T turbo engine, a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and front-wheel drive only (sDrive). Interestingly, the 156 hp 2023款 (288,900 ¥) is cheaper than the 140 hp 2022款 尊享型 (298,800 ¥) — the difference is explained by equipment level and model year, not power. For the Russian buyer, importantly, both engines (140 and 156 hp) fall within the recycling-fee relief threshold for an individual importing for personal use (engine ≤160 hp), which lowers the total customs-clearance cost; the new generation has a minimal margin — just 4 hp below the threshold.
