The BMW i3 is a mid-size electric sedan that BMW Brilliance builds for the Chinese market. Over the past 12 months 15,724 cars of the series found buyers in China.
The line-up is simple in structure: one body, one drive layout and one reduction gear across all 16 versions. Drive goes to the rear axle from a motor mounted at the back, and there is no stepped gearbox — a single-speed reduction gear takes its place.
The versions differ in the powertrain. Entry cars are rated at 210 kW, or 285 hp; the top ones at 250 kW, which is 340 hp. Battery capacity across the range runs from 70 to 79.1 kWh, and the claimed driving range is quoted between 526 and 625 km.
Dimensions do not change from version to version: 4,872 mm long, 1,846 mm wide, 1,481 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,966 mm. Seating is for 5.
The series is built from 2022 through 2027, and factory prices run from 278,000 to 413,900 yuan. Every version sits above the 58.84 kW mark; none of them falls below it.
