The BAIC X7 is a mid-size SUV that has been on sale since 2020. Every version shares the same engine, so what separates them is equipment rather than mechanics.
That engine is a combustion unit of 1498 to 1499 cc rated at 138 kW (188 hp). It works with a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission and front-wheel drive, and it meets the China 6 emission standard. A wet clutch pack runs in an oil bath, a layout meant to cope with high torque and stop-start city traffic.
The body changes little across the range: length from 4710 to 4745 mm, width 1892 mm, height 1715 mm, wheelbase 2800 mm. Seating is for 5.
The factory price list covers 18 versions, from 104,900 to 149,900 yuan. In power terms the entire range sits above the 117.68 kW mark, the single engine putting the cheapest version there alongside the dearest. Sales in China over the past 12 months came to 3,416 cars.
