Aion AION Y

The AION Y is a compact electric crossover that GAC Aion has produced for the Chinese market since 2021. No version carries a combustion engine, and over the years the line-up has grown to several dozen trims.

Dimensions differ between versions: length from 4,410 to 4,535 mm and height from 1,645 to 1,759 mm. Width stays at 1,870 mm throughout, as does the 2,750 mm wheelbase. Every car seats 5, and there is no transmission choice to make: a single-speed reducer and front-wheel drive are used across the board.

Motor output runs from 70 to 150 kW, about 95 to 204 hp, the widest technical spread anywhere in the series. Batteries cover 37.9 to 76.8 kWh and quoted range 310 to 610 km, so strictly urban versions and longer-legged ones sit side by side in the same catalogue. With the body and the drive layout unchanged, the choice inside the range is largely a choice of battery.

The price list has accumulated 75 versions, priced from 99,800 to 202,600 yuan. All 75 of them stand above the 58.84 kW threshold. Sales in China over 12 months amounted to 48,181 cars.
