The Volkswagen Golf is a compact five-door C-class hatchback that gave its name to the 'Golf-class' segment. On the Chinese market the model is built locally by the FAW-VW joint venture (一汽-大众) as a hatchback, without the wheelbase extension typical of many of the group's sedans in China. Our stock features the eighth generation (MK8) from 2021-2023 with a single engine — the 1.4 TSI turbo (280TSI) with 150 hp and 250 Nm, paired with a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission and front-wheel drive. Trims are the base Golf 280TSI and the Golf 280TSI R-Line with an aerodynamic body kit. For import by an individual, note that the version develops 150 hp (less than 160 hp), which qualifies for the reduced 'personal-use' recycling-fee rate.
