Kaiyi Kunlun昆仑

The Kaiyi Kunlun is a mid-size crossover for the Chinese domestic market. The range is unusually broad at 69 versions, and sales over the past 12 months came to 11,514 cars.

The series has been in production since 2023. Two engine displacements are used, 1.5 litres and 2.0 litres, and output across the range runs from 115 to 187 kW, or 156 to 254 hp.

Power is what splits the series in two. The 117.68 kW mark falls close to the smaller engine: 16 versions stay below it, while 53 are above. For a buyer comparing versions, that is the main internal boundary of the range.

The gearbox is of one type throughout — a wet dual-clutch transmission, quoted with 6 or with 7 ratios depending on the version. Drive is front-wheel drive only, with no all-wheel-drive option. The emission standard is China 6.

The body is 4,738 mm long, 1,968 mm wide and 1,708 mm tall, on a wheelbase of 2,820 mm. Cabins come with 5 or 7 seats, so a third row is part of the range. Factory prices are spread widely, from 98,900 to 169,900 yuan, which follows from the sheer number of versions.
