The Jinbei New Hiace EV is a fully electric microvan made for the Chinese domestic market. Over the past 12 months, 4,320 cars of the series were sold in the country.
The series has been in production since 2022. Every version uses the same motor of 60 kW, or 81 hp, driving through a single-speed reduction gear.
Drive is to the rear wheels, but the layout differs across the range: on some versions the motor sits at the rear, on others it is placed amidships. For a van that is a difference in architecture rather than a footnote in the specification.
The battery is the same on every version, 40.6 kWh. Quoted range across the range is given in a wide span, from 300 to 600 km. Seating is either 2 or 7, splitting the series into versions with a full cabin and versions with a single row.
The proportions are upright: 4,495 mm long, 1,990 mm tall and only 1,680 mm wide. The wheelbase of 2,925 mm takes up almost the whole length of the body, leaving minimal overhangs — the usual geometry when the wheels are pushed right into the corners. Factory prices run from 139,800 to 192,800 yuan.
