BYD Sealion 06海狮06

The Sealion 06 is a mid-size crossover sold by BYD on the Chinese market. The range is a mixed one, putting fully electric versions and plug-in hybrids under a single name, so neighbouring trims are often built to different recipes.

Output across the family runs from 74 to 270 kW, or roughly 100 to 367 hp. Hybrid versions use a 1,498 cc engine, about 1.5 litres, rated to the China 6 emission standard, and the range lists two transmissions, a CVT and a single-speed reduction gear.

Battery capacity spans 18.3 to 82.7 kWh and quoted range 132 to 710 km. The body itself is common to every version: 4,810 mm long, 1,920 mm wide, 1,675 mm tall, on a 2,820 mm wheelbase, with 5 seats. In looks and packaging, then, the versions do not differ from one another; everything else does.

Factory prices go from 129,900 to 199,800 yuan, and the car has been built since 2025. Sales over 12 months reached 233,376 units. On power the family splits almost evenly: 7 of the 15 versions stay below the threshold and 8 go above it, which makes the choice of version matter more than the choice of model.
