BYD Seagull海鸥

The Seagull is a small-class BYD with an electric drivetrain, built for the Chinese market since 2023. Sales in China over 12 months came to 177,087 units.

Power is modest across the range, from 55 to 95 kW, or 74 to 129 hp. Every version is electric and uses the same single-speed reduction gear. Battery capacity covers 30.1 to 38.9 kWh and the quoted range 305 to 405 km.

Body size varies a good deal for a car of this class: length from 3,780 to 4,205 mm, width from 1,715 to 1,810 mm, height from 1,540 to 1,570 mm, and a wheelbase between 2,500 and 2,650 mm. Of the 18 versions, 17 stay below the 58.84 kW threshold and only one rises above that line. What distinguishes the versions is mostly body length, battery capacity, range and seat count.
