BYD Han汉

The Han is a full-size BYD sedan in the business class, built for the Chinese market since 2020 and offered both as a plug-in hybrid and as a battery-electric car. Sales in China over 12 months came to 59,238 units.

The bodywork barely changes across the family: length from 4,960 to 4,995 mm, with width fixed at 1,910 mm and height at 1,495 mm, a wheelbase of 2,920 mm and seating for 5. What changes is everything underneath.

Output runs from 102 to 380 kW, or about 138 to 516 hp. Versions with a combustion engine displace 1,497 to 1,999 cc, roughly 1.5 to 2.0 litres, and are rated to the China 6 emission standard. Three transmissions are used: a CVT, a single-speed reduction gear and a wet six-speed dual-clutch transmission. Drive can be front-wheel, all-wheel, or all-wheel with two electric motors.

Battery capacity spans 15.2 to 85.4 kWh and the quoted range 81 to 715 km, while factory prices in China run from 165,800 to 331,800 yuan. Of the 72 versions in the family, 37 stay below the power threshold and 35 sit above it.
