BYD Sealion 07 EV海狮07 EV

The Sealion 07 EV is an electric mid-size crossover that BYD built for the Chinese market between 2024 and 2025. Sales in China over 12 months came to 7,086 vehicles.

Power is high from the entry version upwards, from 170 to 390 kW, or 231 to 530 hp. A single-speed reduction gear is the only transmission. Rear-drive versions use a rear-mounted motor, while all-wheel-drive versions add a second electric motor.

Battery capacity sits in a narrow band of 71.8 to 80.6 kWh, and the quoted range covers 550 to 610 km. The body is the same throughout: 4,830 mm long, 1,925 mm wide, 1,620 mm tall, on a wheelbase of 2,930 mm, with room for 5 in every version and no third-row option anywhere in the range. Factory prices in China ran from 189,800 to 239,800 yuan.

All 8 versions sit above the 58.84 kW threshold, the entry car by a wide margin. Choosing within the family is therefore a question of drive layout, battery and range rather than of a weak version against a strong one.
